Ragnhild, Sandra and I went to Borås for some fabric-shopping today. I showed wonderful restraint and only bought two metres of dupioni, one was shot in dark pink and purplish blue and one was a greyish sky blue. Both are for making new tunics for Maja. She needs some new clothes for Turefesten, the next event we're going to. But they had this wonderful 100% silk damask in burgundy, with a very renaissance pineapple pattern. It was 349 SEK/metre, which is c. 50$, but I would have bought some for a forepart and sleeves if i hadn't been both short on money and not very enthusiastic about 16th century clothing at the moment. I also abstained from buying lovely fulled wool in light mint green and a mauve pink. I think it would have been a wonderfully horrible mi-parti gothic fitted dress, but the colours are more right for the early 14th century and anyway I have more wool than I need. Ragnhild bought 14 metres of greyish light blue fulled wool however. It is for the roof on her pavilion. She already has 18 metres of burgundy fulled wool for the walls. We also found a lovely wine and navy checked wool blend for 30 SEK/metre (a little more than 4$) at Saxylle that she bought six metres of to make an 1880s traveling dress that she's going to use at an 1880s LARP this summer. If she hadn't bought it, I would have had to, it was too good to miss.
I have on the other hand bought this silk fabric from eBay. I should never have started with eBay, it is way too full of temptations
