The swedish singer Monica Zetterlund (link to the only english presentation I found now) most likely died in a fire in her apartment last night. The body hasn't been identified due to the burns, but who else should it be, in her bed, with her wheel chair next to it?
Monica was a jazz singer who also sang swedish folk music and political songs. The latter sometimes had text written by Tage Danielsson (link in swedish only), another of the dominant swedish artists in the 60s and 70s, who died 1985. They often had a tone of melancholy, so typical of swedish folk music and transferred to other musical styles too.
I love her way of singing jazz, especially in swedish, I love her other songs too and there were times when I listened to her vey much. Her music means something special to me and I feel like I've lost something precious.
They are all growing old and dying, our heroes from the 60s, and leaving us in a world that will be much sadder and darker without them.
Sorry, if this isn't so coherent, I'm too sad to be good with words.
