I finished sewing the front guards yesterday and put a couple of hooks and eyes in this morning before I left for work. So the black dress is finished so I can wear it. I have also put a piece of boning along the front edge of a blue doublet that I made three years ago to stop it from wrinkling. To do that I had to take away the buttons and now I am one button short, but hopefully it's somewhere at home. I did the actual sewing during a friend and colleuage's defense of his doctor's dissertation, which I learnt a couple of weeks ago is called Viva Voce in english. His dissertation is about the de-masculinization of the physiotherapist profession. Very interesting and he's also a really nice guy, we studied together before our master's degree too.
Anyway, here is where the champagne comes in. As usual there was champagne and for the first time since Maja was made in the beginning of august 2003 I had a glass of it. My first alcohol for almost two years, I feel really tipsy and ...ehrm...amorous. I think I should go home to my husband and do some packing for the event as well as some cuddling, I won't get anything done at work today anyway.
