Bloody hot

It's sunny and bloody hot outside which of course means that it's too damn hot inside too. I have now taken off my skirt and work only in my shirt and underwear. The shirt/blouse is long and reaches below mid thigh, but has slits in the side. I don't care anyway as long as my panties aren't visible. I hate it when it's too hot.My neck hurts too and I have a hard time getting anything done.

If you see this Bess, could you tell us how you are? Seeing where the bombs hit I'm very worried.
This goes for [livejournal.com profile] sarahbellem too of course.

I just feel like crying and I know it won't be better until we hear from [livejournal.com profile] myladyswardrobe and [livejournal.com profile] edmndclotworthy. I'm thankful I have few friends in London and that three of them already are accounted for.
I've tried writing on my chapter on materials in medieval scandinavian dress, but I keep checking LJ all the time to see if there's some news. If they are at Kentwell they won't be having their cell phones on, right? otherwise I could call from here, since the cell phones in London aren't working now due to overload. I don't have Bess' number of course, but I assume I could get it from [livejournal.com profile] guyelfkin.

Thunder just struck and there's a tropical rainstorm outside, the rain pouring and thundering down, turning the world outside my window grey and almost impossible to see through. And the center of the thunder is just above us. I'm taking precautions and saving my recent writings on the university's server.

It doesn't work. I can't think and I need Rickard. Take care of all of you.
I'll be checking LJ from home and hope to hear from Bess and/or Edmund.

I just want to say that Denver fabrics are truly evil. They have lowered their price for the white silk dobby (dobby is a very simple weave pattern) that I have been eye-ing for a while to 3.98/yard. I had to buy it. Now, when I have very little money and need more fabric like I need a hole in my head. I ordered 12 yards for lining my murrey wool 1293 ensemble.
I have been sewing on my new black partlet that I cut out yesterday and it seems to com along nicely. It's in the same insanely expensive wool cloth that I used for the guards on the black gown. I'm lining it with a self striped white linen. Pictures will come when it's finished. And Rickard has finished my girdle which he hasn't worked on for a while. Today he's away playing Warhammer at the club and I miss him a lot.
