Taken from almost everybody.
Post the answers to the following questions in your journal—but reply here so we can all surf over and revel in your shame!

1. What is the unfinished project that looms over you? Bonus points if you can remember how long you have been avoiding it.
An 18th century sack dress that I started on in the summer 2003. I have finished the underwear and the petticoat and made the lining for the bodice, but I never got the pleating in the back right. And now I am so much smaller so it wouldn't fit me anyway. And I also think that there is polyester in the fabric so I don't even feel like doing anything from it anymore. But having made and put on pleated strips of the fabric with lace along the edges on the petticoat I feel stupid not finishing it. But I don't think I will.
My first 19th century dress in white cotton with periwinkle and lilac flowers on it has also been lying untouched for almost ayear. I can't get the pleated bodice right.
Actually I see a pattern: the reason they don't get finished is that I don't have a dress dummy and it's very hard to pleat things on yourself. Especially in the back.

2. What is your secret sewing vice? It could be anything from not pressing seams to cutting against the grain. It’s the thing you do that’s wrong—and you don’t care!

I use polyester thread even when hand sewing sometimes. But I do care, it's just that I don't have silk in all colours.

3. Which of your sewing friends do you envy and why?
[livejournal.com profile] sarahbellem because she can drape and make patterns just like that! And make costumes in no time. There's lots of others, [livejournal.com profile] jenthompson for her artistic talent, [livejournal.com profile] pinkdiamonds for making so many non-sewing parts of her costumes...etc, etc.

4. If you could steal any costume sewn by anyone you know—and that includes in the LJ sense of the word—what would it be and who made it?
Too hard! If we also include that it would magically fit me it would probably be [livejournal.com profile] koshka_the_cat's pink ballgown. It's a period I can't make myself.

5. You’re stumped about how to proceed on a project, so you ask for advice from your pin posse. What is the WORST advice you received?
I don't know if I've ever gotten any bad advice, my friend Caroline always used to cut things too short when she helped me make patterns though.

6. You worked hard on the costume, got it finished, and now you hate it and never wear it. What is it?
My 1901 dress. It's made from cotton chintz and is now to big and makes me look fat. And I didn't work hard enough on it. But it will be remade eventually.

7. Have you ever had a costume you made implode—while you were wearing it? Do tell!
No, I make very sturdy costumes. The lacing on a back laced flemish c. 1500 dress broke once though.

8. You know you shouldn’t wear it—the costume is soooo unflattering--but you love it and wear it anyway. What is it?
How about this?. It's the wrong colours and too big.

9. Complete the sentence: I know I’m a costume whore because…?
I have more fabric than anybody needs. AND more costumes than anybody needs. Some of them I've only worn once.

10. You are at some kind of costumed event. You are trussed up in the pranciest of your prancy costumes. You are wearing a wig. And feathers. You see a work colleague. Do you step forward boldly and claim your geekitude, or do you flee?

If they don't know I'm a geek already it's about time they got to know.

I have lots to do, I even actually feel somewhat inspired, but it hurts too much to work.
I'm going home.

My friend Sara sent me this link:

I actually laughed out loud, while being somewhat embarassed.

Go there, you know you want to.
Very work safe, unless they mind giggling.
