The concert
Apr. 30th, 2006 09:42 amThe concert with the Dubliners was really, rally good. Unfortunately Rickard has been attacked by some stomach bug and wasn't feeling well at all. But he saw it and enjoyed it, just not as much as I did.
of course, it was too short, when you have such a catalogue of songs you can't play all. I wanted "Off to Dublin in the green and "Foggy dew", but I can understand if they don't want to play them. It was one thing to record them in the sixties and it would be another thing to play them now, after decades of violence and murders. Not that they deal with those things, they are historical songs, a hundred years old, but the political connection is still there.
Or maybe they just wanted to play other songs. And hits, which I doubt those ever were.
And I have a new idol: Eamonn Campbell.
