frualeydis: (jag)
I just finished watching 24 hour party people which was on the telly. It was interesting, but not great; I don't think I need to see it again. Maybe it's because I'm not that crazy about the musical scene it was about. I like Joy Division and New Order of course, but most of the late 80s Manchester pop and rave culture seemed to pass me by, I was probably too busy saving the world ;). I recall one or two good songs with Happy Mondays, but I never was into them. (In my opinion the best of the late 80s british bands is Stone roses.) I knew some people who were and and it didn't end well. It was not only the music they got inspired by, if we say so.
But, as said, the film was interesting, and I sewed most of the body part of a 16th century jacket to go with my kirtle. I love hand sewing while watching the telly.

The body of the jacket was finished this morning and the sleeves have all seams felled now and they're hemmed at the wrists. Now I need to gather them a little at the top and sew them to the body and sew the lining to the seam allowance, covering the raw edges. Then all that remain will be lots of hooks and eyes. I can't say I look forward to that. But in all it should be finished around wednesday.
