In ten minutes time I'm off to the bus to go the one of the hospitals in town and have three of my toes broken. I'm kind of nervous, but I think the result is worth it. No more hammer toes that makes it hard to walk barefoot and to find shoes that fit. Rickard is coming with me, which is good.

My toes are broken now. It took about 1,5 hours including preparations and afterwork. I was rather nervous but the surgeon was an excellent "psychologist" too and distracted me with talk of Visby medieval week. I've been home for several hours, mostly sleeping, but also watching a DVD with "my" soccer team's first UEFA-cup win. I missed the celebration and delivery of a festschrift (book in honour of) for a colleague's 65th birthday, but I don't grieve too much. I got to see classic soccer and be with my husband. And it doesn't hurt too badly; at least not with painkillers.

It won't stop bleeding! Whenever I try to walk on my foot (to go to the loo for instance) I leave marks with fresh red blood. I don't think this is the way it's supposed to be, but I don't think it's dangerous either. We're going to bed now and we'll see how it looks tomorrow. And call the hopsital and ask about it, no point in doing it now, since they only have day surgery and noone's there now. [livejournal.com profile] armillary is coming here tomorrow and if something is amiss I can call him and he can come by car instead of tram and drive me to the hospital.
So, no real need for worry, but I don't like it!
