The first snow!

It's cold and light outside, the sun as just risen above the hills and it is snowing!! Miniature flakes falling straight down; like they do when it's well below freezing and no wind.
It's beautiful.

My friend Julia just called. We had decided that she should have dinner here today, something I had totally forgotten. It is going to be so much fun meeting her. We haven't hung out for five years or so. She stopped being active in Nordrike and I wasn't very active either. She spent more time with the re-enactment group Fraternis Militia Carnis and even more studying and doing research in physics (I think).
This autumn she has been working partly in Göteborg and now we have finally gotten around to meet. All I can say is squeee!

We will eat bacon, onions and apples which are fried together and frumenty and talk about garb and gossip!

I've got green shoes!

When going through lots of old junk at the house I grew up in, where my stepfather now lives alone, I found these. I got them back in 1988 by a woman I lived with the first month I lived in Göteborg. I didn't wear them then, because they're a size 41 and I am a size 39-40, but it seems my feet has grown the past 20 years and one can always use thicker socks of course.
They are, however, a little too flat for my arthritic feet, so I will probably pass them on anyone who wants them.
