Shocking pink
Jan. 5th, 2008 09:32 pmThere has been quite a lot of mundane sewing going on lately. Especially for me who usually prefer sewing historical clothing any day. But first it was the grey wool dress, which I wore with jeans yesterday BTW) and two days ago I finished a pink dress inspired by dresses by designers Sara Berman and, to a much lesser extent, Betsey Johnson. Behind the cut you can see the inspiration dresses and a blurry pic of the result.
( See! )
Today I also finished a dress for Maja in the same fabrics; hers has a black velvet bodice and pink skirt and short puffy sleeves. Yes, it was by request. And, finally, I started on a shortish skirt from a vintage fabric in black with a woven pattern of stylized red and blue roses and light green stems in bands - the fifties or sixties I think.
