There has been quite a lot of mundane sewing going on lately. Especially for me who usually prefer sewing historical clothing any day. But first it was the grey wool dress, which I wore with jeans yesterday BTW) and two days ago I finished a pink dress inspired by dresses by designers Sara Berman and, to a much lesser extent, Betsey Johnson. Behind the cut you can see the inspiration dresses and a blurry pic of the result.

In the right corner is the fabric of course.

Today I also finished a dress for Maja in the same fabrics; hers has a black velvet bodice and pink skirt and short puffy sleeves. Yes, it was by request. And, finally, I started on a shortish skirt from a vintage fabric in black with a woven pattern of stylized red and blue roses and light green stems in bands - the fifties or sixties I think.

It is always interesting to see the clothes people make, and you make so many different things all the time! (I do look in the fashion blog from time to time as well, it is fun to see what you come up with. You dress quite differently from me and from what I normally see people wear and that makes it extra exiting).

That type of colour and it's close friends (cerise, fuchsia) is one of the colours I "do", and I think the dress looks very nice and fun! What type of fabric is it? Is it more of a party dress or a colourful everyday or even summer dress?

I like the dresses, both of htem, but I really love the needlebound mittens! Are the fuzzy puffs integral, or applied?

They're sewn after the mittens were made. I didn't make them, I bought them.

I like it; it looks great on you. Though it also looks as though it should be either 15 cm shorter or 15 cm longer--I can't quite decide which.

Well, definitely not shorter, that would expose my bum whenever I bent over to pick something up :)

I didn't think of that. But 15 cm either way would improve the proportions, and make you look even slimmer in it.
