When studying swedish 17th and early 18th century sumptuary legislation I came across the following, regarding regulation of marriage celebrations: "Since we do not want to change anything in the copulation ceremonies..." in a law from 1644. That's nice to know.

This weekend is one of the local SCA-groups' annual events: St. Egon's feast. I had a marvellous time last year and I don't often go to any events, so you can understand how I have looked forward to this. The bad news is that I was so ill today that I had to take tramadol during the day, which i never do, and hardly functioned at all (this may also affect tomorrow's full moon celebration, which doesn't make me happy either) - so I may not be well enough to go.
But if I recover enough the good news is that I tried on a kirtle I've made recently and it will work under this gown, which, unlike me expectations, actually fits me now. That will be the first time that I wear it for eight years, and I've only worn it once before. Now I need to make a new, lower, neck for a shift I have, get myself a false braid in my current haircolour and see if there's something that needs to be done on the twisted fabric thingy I'm wearing with it. A wulsthaube would work nicely too, but I don't have one.
