I haven't done so much on the dress as I anticipated today, but at least all pieces except the sleeves are patterned and cut. I ran out of white thread so I had to walk to a giant supermarket a kilometre and a half or so away to get some more. It was lovely weather (still is) and I like walking along the little river and the derelict early 20th century factory/workshop buildings, which are situated outside the centre of town. While there I also bought hair dye, a top on sale for Maja and two compilation CDs with 50s rock'n'roll.
This I did after Rickard came home from work; he ends at two on Saturdays. Before that I sewed some and then went to the pharmacy, Rickard's shop and the vegetable/fruit seller together with Maja. When we got back we rung on [livejournal.com profile] herzeloyde's door to see if we could come up and bring some fruit and socialize. Since her baby was due Monday you never know if they'll be home. Well, they were, and we spent a couple of hours togehter. Her labour had, however, already started, so at two Maja and I went home so that they could eat some lunch and she could shower before they had to go to the hospital. I don't know when exactly they went, but at 3.30 they didn't answer the phone when her sister called. I hope everything goes well.

One should think twice and cut once. If you don't you end up having to do what I'll have to do now: cut two new strips for the front of the skirt. I made them as long as the skirt panels; forgetting that they should go up and meet the top of the waist section. I have enough fabric so that's not a problem; it's just annoying.
And it'll have to wait until tomorrow, since it's 20 past 10 and I'm getting really tired.
