A suit

My yellow cotton summer suit inspired by one worn by Betty Grable in the film "Pin-up girl" from 1944, is now finished. It is not a very good photo and I didn't make my hair the 1940s way - mainly because I was going to Vendela's and Valeria's last day of school ceremony and didn't want to embarrass them. Or at least Vendela, Valeria doesn't seem to be embarrassed by anything that I do.

I am debating with myself whether I should shorten the sleeves, but apart from that I'm quite happy with it. I will, however, move the bust gore a little next time I make the jacket, because now it is a little bit too short and also a little to far out on the shoulder.

Maja's new dress

I finished Maja's new dress today. It has decorative machine stitching instead of hand hemming so it went quite fast. I also shortened the sleeves on my yellow jacket. Now I wills tart translating some SCA documents from Swedish to English. And maybe have another cup of tea.




Oh, and some exciting news for me and other local SCA people: Our shire got the Kingdom University in November. Since our Kingdom covers all of Europe, Israel and South Africa that is very exciting, though I think the foreign guests will probably mostly be from Germany, the UK and Finland.

My daughters are off to a party

Today Vendela and Valeria finished their tenth year of compulsory school. In autumn they start different high schools, studying very different things. And tonight they're on a party given by the school and won't be home until one o'clock.



They are the best daughters one could have and I'm so proud of them.
