So, since I now have a teenager I wasn't the one who did the most fashion shopping while in London. Instead it was Valeria who bought herself pretty dresses and nice shoes for cheap at Camden Market.

Here's a closer shot of the shoes, which are blue, despite seeming more grey in the photos.

My striped 1940s sundress is now finished (well, I'm going to adjust the straps a little in front, but it's wearable). The fabric is pretty, but unfortunately rather loosely woven and I don't think it will last well. It's also see through so that I have to wear beige panties. I'm thanking my friend and neighbour Anna for them, I didn't have any before I got some of hers that she has grown out of.

It's is the first pattern I've made with cups and I think that next time I use it it will turn out even better. That's the way I work: make patterns and adjust them a little every time I use them, until I think that they are perfect.

I have decided that the first outfit I make for Maja's new doll which [livejournal.com profile] clothsprogs made will be a brown velvet Tudor gown with yellow brocade forepart and patterned velvet turn back cuffs. And which will be closed in the back with snaps. After all it's a little girl's doll.

I have cut out the skirt for the gown, but since I haven't got a bodice pattern and was too tired to draft one I started with the petticoat. Tomorrow I might start on the bodice. Or on the shift. Or I'll work on something for me instead - who knows. At least I have a plan :)
