As promised I show the printed cotton I got in Borås on Tuesday. Both colour and pattern have a distinct 1940s feel, though for kitchen curtains rather than clothing; I won't let that stop me from making dresses from it of course.

The other fabrics I ordered from a place called Jonic two weeks ago.

The red is viscose and will be made into a dress, the charcoal is wool/poly and will become a skirt and the blue is cotton and I have no idea what I'm going to make from it. I found the through a facebook post by [livejournal.com profile] isiswardrobe; she has also bought the red fabric. The fabric on top were 30 SEK (approx. 4,50 $, 2£ 90p) and the ones at the bottom 19 SEK (approx 3 $, 1£ 80p), which is incredibly cheap.

I really, really intended to make a post here too, but it's so much work to upload the photos to photobucket too so I just direct you to my other blog for a post with lots of pictures of a stoves, bikes, a washing machine and of course a sewing machine as well as some vintage ads. Go here!

I
have been busy today with doing laundry, goign to the doctor about my cold which has lasted forever and general unpacking, but now  all my new fabric is washed at least.

Now I just have to figure out what to wear to a medieval festival at the local castle, where our barony is having a demo.I haven't finsihed the sleeves for my 15th cnetury venetian yet and I'd really much rather drink than sew tonight so I'll probably wear something old. Since so many are doing middle class these days I sort of feel that I ought to be a noble lady in silk tomorrow, but I don't have much in that way that fits me.
