When I saw the owls sweater by Kate Davies I  knew that I had to make it and now I have. It's really, really warm, so now when it's a few degrees above zero (ca 37 F) it really works best without a coat. I think it will be excellent for ice skating, when I prefer not to have a heavy coat. Not that I know if there'll be any ice skatingfor me this winter, my ankles hurts so much that I actually ordered a pair of crutches yesterday. That way I won't have to contact a doctor everytime I need to let my ankles rest. But I love how it looks, my owls sweater. My neighbour/friend Anna and I redesigned the actual sweater, since I was using thinner yarn and needles than the pattern called for, and kept the owls part from the original. That way I could get a more vintage appropraite shape, with a tight fit and it ending at the waist. I also made short rows to make it fit over the bust. The yarn is 100 % wool and I bought it very cheaply at a low-cost chain store where I live and it took about a week to make.

But now my hands hurt, so I won't knit more for a while. Instead I'm going to start, some day when I feel better, on a dress for my cousin's wedding on New Years Eve.
