Some of the papers for the Fashion Conference I'm going to in Copenhagen next week can now be found here.

That conference is going to be so cool. Thanks for posting this - I might have my students read one or two of those next semester.

I'm going to read those when I'm rid of this pesky dial-up. It's too slow, and too expensive. *grumbles*

Can I ask you something? I'm going to buy fabric for the 16th century kirtle I'm planning, and all my books are still packed, so I have no idea on how much fabric I need. And I'm not at all sure when I will find it, and I want to buy the fabric soon as it's a sale. So if you remember how much you used, I would be really grateful. But only if it's no trouble for you ,of course.

I've lived without my books for a whole week now, and another to go, and I feel very deprieved!

Do you mean a "normal" kirtle or the loose kirtle (http://web.comhem.se/~u31138198/PoFkirtle.html) from Patterns of Fashion? I don't think that I used more than four metre on a the green kirtle (http://web.comhem.se/~u41200125/diary2.html), but the loose kirtle had so many layers...If you don't make it exactly like the original with several layers you can probably get away with four metres there too.

Oh sorry, I meant the loose kirtle. I do plan to make it like Arnold's, but I guess if I count on 4 metres per layer I won't be short on fabric at least. :-) Thank you!
