Someone doesn't want to sleep even though it's 8.40 and she has to get up at 7.30 tomorrow. Instead she walks around in diapers with another cloth diaper draped stylishly around her shoulder, laughing madly.
_Our_ plan was to do our bills today as soon as she was asleep. For some odd reason I couldn't sleep today, so I'm really, really tired.

At least she does get to bed at a decent hour. My little sister falls asleep at 11pm. Don't know how my parents do that!

Not really relevant to this message, but it's 9.30 in West Sussex, England and I am sorting out pictures of medieval costumes with wide sleeves (you may know this is my passion!) all taken at Visby. There are files and pictures everywhere and I have just completed updating information that I have written on two costumes taken last year. I am therefore fully if not completely immersed in wide sleeves and once I've had my usual bath around 10.00, I will be wearing one of my many robes with them (actually this one comes from Vasteras, but bought in England!. Rather like the picture at the top, this is what an interest in costume can do to you!

Thanks Paul! I'm always fascinated and a little impressed by peole who were medieval or medieval inspired clothing outside events, even if it's just in their homes. I have been thinking about making an elizabethan loose gown to wear to work, since it's rather cold there in the winter.

Heh. I've been pondering whether an English gown could double as a winter coat.

And I wear my tudor hats out of event. They're just so warm.

At least Maja's laughing not crying!

I use my furry monster robe at home sometimes. But you know that already.

If I can find a photograph of myself, I'll try and send it to you!

That would be fun. All I have to go on is my husband's description of "a very british guy" :)

I've found 2 pictures I have on CD Rom and are sending those separately asI have no idea how you'd send them to Live Journal!

Wearing my robes at home is a great way of relaxing and to chill out! It takes you away from the mundane clothes you wear everyday (although I try to be as individual as I can in these - but for work they are desparately boring!!). I'd recommend it to anyone with this interest in costumes/history/re-enactment etc.

In fact it's been most useful, as I can learn what you can or cannot do in long garments. I can carry a cup of tea upstairs to my mum in bed in the mornings quite happily, feed the cat, and even open the door to the postman in the mornings.....! All in wide sleeves! (Don't know what he thinks though!!!). Among the things I have not yet done, is drive to an event in costume, but that will come one day!

The best part of my day is the ability to curl up with a good book, wearing a favourite robe!. I always wear one when my mother and I have Christmas lunch too! My 40th birthday is on Sunday 4th and I will no doubt wear one of my favourite robes at some point in the day or my new all reindeer skin gown which indeed comes from Sweden!

I wonder what the definition of a very British guy is? One thing I can say is, Swedes are not all blond(e) hair and blue eyes - they are just the same as we are!!

Best Wishes

Paul

I use to wear my first and not-so-terribly-authentic doublet (green wool lined with yellow dupioni) quite frequently. Even at the state examination...
It's rather plain and undecorated, so I think that was better than my old blazer that doesn't fit anymore.
