If anybody here is interested in seeing how the Sock dreams superstripes work on my not-so-slim legs or how my legs look period (although I find the latter highly unlikely) I posted pictures in the [livejournal.com profile] socks_fun community. They are here.

And yes, I should technically be working

Edited: it's not because I find my legs ugly that I find it unlikely that you might want to look at just the legs, it's that most of the people who read this are (at least I think so) straight women, or gay men :)

I know, I actually like my legs, but the rest of the girls that have posted picture have long and slim legs, not short and muscular like mine (you can actually see the dent in the calf from the muscles on the picture).

Well, the rest of the girls are... girls, I didn't see many I'd put much past teens.

Legs look *better* with a bit of shape and definition to them.

Do you have any recommendations for overkneesocks brand to avoid the muffin-thigh effect? I like the look, but the only pair I've tried hurt too much to wear :-( .

And seconds other commentators: nothing wrong with your legs.

Speaking as one of the probably few straight men on your list, very nice. Teddy is absolutely correct that legs look better with curves and definition. Scrawny toothpick legs look like the person needs to exercise, be fed more or both.

How large are your feet? Because those stockings still look a bit big round the foot. Otherwise they look lovely - and I'm impressed by your calves.

They're 39 (c.9 in US-sizes) so if this is the smaller footed version I don't want to try the other.

I like your legs :)

I don't think they are the small footed version. If you look at the sock-dreams webpage, the small footed stripes have plain feet, the regular have striped feet.

I reckon someone stuck the wrong ones in your envelope.

I sent that pair of socks off to you today, btw. Should be a week or so. Let me know when they reach you?

COuld you let me know how much these shrink when you wash them? I've been disappointed with my o basics - they lose several inches and change texture completely on washing, becoming much denser. Such a shame :(

OK, that would explain why the lilac and seafoam superstripes with solid feet fit my feet better. Otherwise there's no difference between them.
I'm washing them tomorrow and we'll see how they turn out. Usually I wash cotton on 60 degrees C but since there's spandex in them I may have ot wash them in only 40 degrees. That doesn't make the cotton fibres clean though.

Wierd. I wash *everything* at 40 and have never noticed a problem with things not getting clean.

Do you get better results at 60? (Not socks, generally). I might have to try it.

I don't know, it's one of the thing those textile scientists say (the engineer types, not the archaeologists) that, the cotton fibre doesn't get clean before 60 degrees.
