It's Christmas eve and in only 7 hours or so I will know what I get for christmas! (We celebrate christmas eve as the big day here in Sweden and get our presents then) I can hardly wait. I love surprises and I hope for lots of socks!

My family celebrates Christmas Eve as the big event too.....but then the family name IS Bergquist so it must be a holdover from *The Old Country*.

God Jul!!

Definitely.
I actually dreamed this night that I was in Texas, visiting somebody from LJ. Somebody in that family was of swedish descent and spoke swedish. But I think it was the husband, and I don't even know where in the US you live.

Nope, not in Texas and I don't speak Swedish. I'm from Chicago.

And now I'm off to my family's Christmas Eve celebration!

At the turn of the century 1900 if I remember correctly, Chicago was the fourth biggest "swedish" city, there were only three towns in Sweden with more inhabitants than Chicago had swedes.
