The two skirts I made
Jan. 4th, 2006 01:11 amInspired by
babylon_goo's very cute skirts in her posts in Sock Dreams' sock journal I finally finished a skirt in pink voile and linen that I cut over a year ago.Everything except the zipper, which I put in today was made on sunday. Yesterday I made another skirt from blue viscose and beige lace. This one is made much like a slip and again it was
babylon_goo who inspired me when she wrote about using slips as skirts. I am a little too old and oldfashioned to use a real slip as a skirt, but I can make a skirt that reminds of one, can't I? I cut it while the rest of the family was watching Family guy, sewed it during the commercial breaks in CSI New York and sewed on the lace by hand while watching Pretty in Pink which was shown very late, I wasn't in bed until 1 am.

The socks worn are skye blue M43s and grey and black OTKs from thingimijig's in the UK. Both of them are a little tight, I have to cuff the M43s, as can be seen here and I can't pull the OTKs as long as they stretch because it hurts my legs. But both stay up very well. I don't need anything to keep the M43s up, which I do for the Superstripes.
