A lot of updates this morning
Jan. 21st, 2004 09:26 amI had planned to update my dress diary yesterday morning. That didn't happen and there is a reason:
We have recently bought what is practically a new computer: new motherboard, new memories, new processor, new graphics card and new sound card. My husband fixed most of this last weekend, but we also wanted to change from Windows 98 to Windows 2000 (to prevent my camera software from crashing all the time) and that was done yesterday. Of course there was lots of trouble with it (what do you expect?), we needed a later version of Internet Explorer etc and by the time it was finished, around midnight, my husband wanted to play a little on his computer and I was too tired to make any updates anyway.
This morning on the other hand I woke up at 7, due to the garbage compressor, which is placed just on the other side of our bedroom wall, starting to make an awful racket. It does this every wednesday, but usually not until 7.30 or 8. My body hurt too much and I was too hungry to fall asleep again so now I have slept five hours this night and I'm waiting for my husband to wake up so that I can try and sleep without listening to him breathing. we will both start late and work late today.
However, on to the updates:
1.There are now pictures of my blackwork sleeves which can be seen together with my green wool dress in the Costume Gallery.
2. I have also gotten a clear picture and added some new info on the toque I'm wearing with my purple elizabethan dress.
3. I've updated my diary of a loose kirtle, with pictures of the finished broad silk applique and net band.
Well, that's all for now.

Date: 2004-01-21 04:37 am (UTC)So I have a favor to ask... I'm having some problems getting the Featured Attyre lined up for this week, so could I take you up on that offer to post something else from your wardrobe? I'm not sure what I would use though... do you have a preference? I love the purple noble gown, but I also really like the French peasant outfit just because I've never seen anybody do that style before.

Date: 2004-01-21 04:46 am (UTC)I'm so happy you haven't done your tuesday update yet, I really felt frustrated about not being able to update my dress diary before you updated your list of diaries.

Date: 2004-01-24 03:44 am (UTC)And I agree about Kalmar Castle:D It was one of the sites I got to see while staying with my friend Josefine :) She lived in Kalmar.
She took me to Vaxjo and Snugge (sorry no accents... never been able to get them using quick keys either...) as we are both Phantom of the Opera fans and Kristina Nilsson was born in Snugge and so we had a wee tour of her early life;) Kristina possibly being an influence for Christine in Phantom;)
Mind you I was there in the middle of winter and I was wearing stockings and two pairs of socks and boots and my feet were still literally frozen to the bone...
Listened ot some of Kristina... thingy... the loooong musical by Benny and Bjorn:) Loved it to pieces from what I heard of it.
I want to go back!
