I most recently got this from [livejournal.com profile] liadethornegge. One should go to Wikipedia and search for the date of one's birthday, without the year. Then post three neat facts, two births and one death.

Neat facts:

1. November 28th 1095 - On the last day of the Council of Clermont, Pope Urban II appoints Bishop Adhemar of Le Puy and Count Raymond IV of Toulouse to lead the First Crusade to the Holy Land.

2. November 28th 1582 - In Stratford-upon-Avon, William Shakespeare and Anne Hathaway pay a £40 bond for their marriage licence.

3. November 28th 1919 - Lady Astor is elected to be the first female member of parliament in the UK.

Births:

1. November 28th 1489 - Margaret Tudor, wife of James IV of Scotland.

2. November 28th 1820 - Friedrich Engels, German philosopher (d. 1895).

Deaths:

28th of November 1290 - Eleanor of Castile, Queen of Edward I of England (b. 1241).

It's mistake that's always being made, I've seen it in books, magazines, tv shows etc. Countess Markiewicz is a good fact to know if it ever comes up in a quiz though.
