Right now I'm so engaged in my work that I don't have any creative energy left for anything else. So if I don't answer people's e-mails etc, it's because all my thoughts are on my job. It's great in a way, but I really wish I had the energy to start on my sleeves and to make patterns for my Manesse clothes and my 1130s dress and put them on my website. It wouldn't be that much work, but right now my mind is filled with courtly literature and the way gender and clothing are connected in it.
I still have the best job in the world, but right now it's possessing me.

I totally understand! My job isn't nearly as cool as yours, but I just don't have the time to focus on web stuff or costuming much lately either. Teaching just takes everything out of me. But at least I still manage to update the features and do a bit of sewing on the weekends, so I guess I'm still doing okay.

But congrats on all of the great work you are doing on your dissertation! Any chance you'll be translating some of it into English when you are finished?

I would love for the whole book to be published in English, but I have no idea how to go about to achieve that. I know a lot of people would be interested, but you have to find a publisher that realizes that too.
But that's in the future, first I have to write the book, then print it for the disputation (I have no idea what the correct english term is) and then find a swedish publisher who wants to make it into a more popular book with lots of glossy pictures :)
I've already been approached by two publishers so that might not be so hard, but we'll see. That won't be until autumn 2005 anyway.

You just carry right on being engrossed in the subject so you can get it written!

You can catch up with people and e-mails etc when it's done and not hanging over your head like a sword on a thin thread.
