To make this outfit!
It's from a late 14th c french manuscript and I think it's wonderful. My guess is that the body is made the way Charles de Blois' pourpoint is, probably with some padding over the chest. Then you have those lovely sleeves and note also that the under sleeves also are wide.
Something for you Teddy?

Teddy's already got an outfit like that-- it's in shocking pink and bright orange, IIRC.

Dude, I'll spring for a bottle of Calvados and we'll pass it around while viewing you in all your glory. And you can't have any, so there, nyah.

Teddy's Infamous Orange and Pink..

Actually, my orange and pink outfit may have a similar silhouette, but it differes from that one in most of the details - the body is a square necked tudor doublet, the detachable sleeves are early 15th century houpellande-style ( flared "trumpets" with dagged turnbacks) the skirting is very short with elaborate dagging (barely six inches at its widest)the hood is very full in a shape only seen on religious figures in the period, with a dagged face openining such as I've never seen on a liripipe hood. The hose split and have been replaced by several new pairs as I gained weight and now none of it fits me except the sleeves and hood. The doublet has both side-seams unpicked and has been awaiting panels inserted to enlarge it for a couple of years at least (and I gained more weight since) and there are no current hose to go with it.

Waaaaah!

Teddy
