This is the catalogue for the wonderful exhibition "Lions of Fashion
Male Fashion of 16th, 17th and 18th century" It has the most awesome, detailed, large colour photos of the Sture costumes (16th century, they are in PoF) for instance. I own it and love it to pieces.

60 quid. OMG, it was like 25 quid when I got the swedish version some years ago.
Does the museum charge that much? Or is it some other place?

If you want it, we can probably arrange something for when I get to the UK at midsummer. It's bound to be cheaper than 60 quid...

He would look fabulous in short, fitted pluderhose, he's got really nice legs as I recall.

he would, but unfortunately he refuses to look like what he describes as a christmas ham decoration ("skinkpinne")... but i'm pretty stubborn, much more so than him, to his despair. and he is starting to consider the first decade of the 16th century now :)

Why not knit them for yourself, and dress as a boy from time to time? Are the piccies different from the ones in Rutt?

I'll scan it for you, then. And of course I don't mind- though me personal journal isn't perhaps the funniest reading.

I agree, it's a wonderful book, with amazing pictures. I was also lucky to see the actual exhibition, which was marvelous. I wish Livrustkammaren would do a female version of it.
