I was almost good today

I didn't buy all the fabric I wanted, but still spent over 120 $. I didn't get any of the fine linen, because I really don't need more shifts now. I only bought 40 cm pale yellow dupioni for the yellow layer between the white pleated ribbon and the black veil on the hood I'm wearing in my icon. But I wanted much more.
I bought 6 metres of lovely 25 cm wide lace that I will use either on a regency dress or an edwardian dress. It cost a little over 4 $/metre. I also got white cotton tape for ties for Maja's hose.
But then we went to Skroten a cheap fabric store in a smallish town/village nearby and there I finally found me some wool. It wasn't exactly cheap, about 20 $/metre, but it was a nice pale, mintish grey-green fulled wool that will make a lovely lower class 16th century gown for me and 1,5 metres of a dark blue fulled wool that may be turned into either a doublet for me, a doublet for Rickard, or a mundane jacket for me.
The reason for the trip was to get dupioni silk for the skirt for linespace's wedding dress. She has made a corset in shot silk in orange and bright spring green that she got from me and the skirt will be in a darker shade of orange.
When we got to my place we made a toile for the skirt and now she has a pattern. It is made like those skirts from the 1890s which are totally flat and rather narrow from the front but has lots of width in the back, gathered close to the middle and with a train. I think it will look fabulous.After that I finished a doll for Maja that I started on last night. It is made from hand woven linen and the face is embroidered with wool yarn. I will start on the hair tomorrow and then she needs at least one medieval outfit. None of Maja's other (two) dolls are fit to bring to the medieval week, so I thought I should make a new.
