frualeydisOn page 172 in Jane Ashelford's The Art of Dress there is a lovely striped dress with a wrap over bodice. I wonder if any of you have seen it in real life (I'm especially putting my hopes in ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
myladyswardrobe and peronel since you live in England). I wonder about the direction of the stripes on the skirt, which isn't shown in the picture. On the bodice the seem to be almost horizontal, with a slight angle, but I am so not going to have a dress with horizontal stripes on the skirt. There is a similar dress at the Gallery of English costume in Manchester (I doubt this link will work long), where the bodice is cut at an angle and the skirt has vertical stripes. This seem like a good solution, but I wouldn't mind more pictures.
