frualeydisI made a stupid mistake when working on Valeria's black wool cotte. So I ended up with a) having to unpick two hand sewn seams and b) with too little fabric. Well, probably not really too little, but less than I wanted to. Now her cotte will have only one gore in each side, with a false seam in the middle, instead of two gores. I think the dress will be about 3 yds wide at the hem, so it isn't too narrow, just not what I planned. I may have to piece the sleeves too.
The mistake was probably due to too little sleep, Maja woke me up just after five and then I couldn't go to sleep again. I also blame lack of sleep for the fact that I haven't had the energy to even look at the lecture I'm giving tomorrow. It's an old one, but it needs some changes. Maybe tomorrow morning; the lecture isn't until 6 pm.
