Nylöses christmas party, which was held at [livejournal.com profile] bippimalin's new house was a really pleasant occasion. We had good food, sang some and gorged ourselves with home made marzipan. I had made herbelade, except that I used smoked pork, and it was really delicious. I also made applemoyse for the first time. It was really good and I will make it again.

There will be pictures eventually at Nylöse's site, but for now I will only show you one picture.

Nope, not this time. The typical swedish pickled herring doesn't go back longer than the 18th century I believe. We have a swedish recipie for herring "salad" from the very late 16th century, but nobody made it this time. The "salad" is made from salted herring that has been watered to get the salt out of it, fresh oregano, olive oil and vinegar.
