Why am I up at this time? Especially since I have to get up at 6 am tomorrow? Because my body hurts too much to sleep. My whoel ribcage is very inflamed right now, it hurts to breathe, to sit, to lie down, to stand; in general, just to exist. My cold is also coming back which leads to some very painful coughing, since all movement in the chest area is very painful.
Right now I don't feel much like living at all, it's just pain.
But don't worry, I am so not the suicidal type. This is more resignation than despair. Or at least just a little despair.

But I can't sleep, and I've taken all the painkillers I can take. So I'm drinking Cinzano Bianco in the hope that the alcohol will dull some of the pain.

I think you've said, but what causes your pain? (if I can be nosey ...) Seems like you have fibromyalgia? Are you sure it's not what we call walking pneumonia? It doesn't incapacitate you like regular pneumonia -- it's caused by the "bronchitis bacteria" -- but it has a *really* ugly, painful cough.

It's psoriatic arthritis. The pain from breathing is caused by the tissue around the ribs being inflamed.

That's a new one on me. I had to go look it up. I have an uncle with psoriasis -- and I'd almost bet he has the psoriatic arthritis, but I'll bet his doctors have never put the two together. I don't think too highly of his doctors .....

I've had cracked ribs -- not fun at all.

To a degree, I know how you feel (long medical history). I'm so sorry, and I just hope that you can get a respite soon.

If it's congested coughing, as in flu, pneumonia, or a cold ~ Elderberry Syrup or Elderberry Cough Syrup can work wonders at helping the cough heal.
In America, we purchase these kinds of things at Whole Foods Market, or at the Health Food Store. I know that alternative remedies are very popular in Europe so you might be aware of Elderberry Syrup (from the Elder Tree).
