Today a new historical drama series started on swedish television, set in 1678. It's called Snapphanar, which was the name for a sort of danish-friendly guerrilla that operated in the newly conquered southern parts of Sweden. Having seen previous pictures, with Tuva Novotny, who plays a noblewoman, wearing what appears to be a prom dress from the 80s, with a wonderbra instead of a corset and some lace attached to the back of the neck opning, I knew the costumes were horrible. (And let's not dwell on the female guerrilla leader with a leather west and leather waist cincher. All in black of course.) Anyway,
herzeloyde and I sat down to watch it, ready to criticize the costumes. Unfortunately the costumes were really the smallest problem. Bad story, bad lighting (yes, it was always dark 300 years ago, even during the day) and possibly bad acting. The latter is a little hard to decide, because the script and dialogue was so bad that it may have been impossible to work with. We just couldn't continue seeing it, it was so bad.
So we decided to continue watching the BBC Pride and Prejudice instead, for the hundredth time or so.
Even Maja recognizes most of it and talks a lot about "Lisabeth", getting very concerned when Lizzie is unhappy.
