There has been some further progress. The bodice now has sleeves and I also include a picture with the apron. I have also had a revelation and feel fooled.
To the web page!

Beautiful! I love the fabric too.

Interesting observation about busks. My first 18c stays are front lacing and buskless, and even though the set I'm working on now is back lacing I wasn't planning on a busk. Seems like a good decision. And now that I think of it, there are a lot of buskless corsets I've seen...

Interesting closure as well. I think I may have seen something similar somewhere, though where exactly escapes me. I like it very much though :)

You know, I've always wondered a bit about busks and the 18th century- but in a very idle way. I have a busk in mine, but a very thin one, just about 15mm. It does nothing to separate my breasts, but it do help to keep the front straight- which is a bit of a trial with my figure.

Yes, thin busks would work, but not 3 cm wide with a triangular shape, which was teh shape suggested on the website back then. It just makes a straight line from my tummy to my ribcage, making the waist much larger than it is and squishing my breasts flatter and separating them.
