Has anyone seen a larger copy of this painting? It's of the calvinist Temple de Paradis in Lyon; it's attributed to Jean-Jacques Perrissin and painted in 1565. Yes, I want to make a fitted gown in pink.

Oooh, nice. I've never seen that one before. Thanks for posting.

You refer to the lady in pink sitting at the bench, with the back towards us, right? It slightly reminds me of the Bronzino portrait of Lucrezia Panciatichi (sp?), but of course a tad more French/Flemish in style. but the shape and the colours aren't too unlike.

I would say it's a very typical example of the kind of dress I discuss here (http://web.comhem.se/~u31138198/diary1.html).There's another one in teal too. I have a small picture of this painting in a book, but I would love a larger one. It seems to be a mostly netherlandish and english style (though the english appear to all have a high neck?), very popular in the 1560s.

It's called "March to Rada" and is a cartoon made in the period 1548-1554 by Jan Vermeyen for a tapestry called "The Conquest of Tunis". It is now in the Kunsthistorische Museum in Vienna. I found it on page 390 in the very nice book/exhibition catalogue Tapestry in teh renaissance. Art and magnificence, published by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2002.

I don't know, but I'd love to see a larger one too! If I could find it in a book, I could scan it at 300 dpi and then it would be nice and large!

*sigh*

I have it in a book, Panorama of the reniassance, but since it's really small in the book scanning it in a higher resolution and blowing it up will not provide more detail and that's what I was hoping for.
