My husband's got a new dress

I just finished my husband's green cotte.It is partly machine sewn, I made all the straight seams on machine and then I felled the seam allowances and stitched them down by hand, as well as hemming by hand of course. It has trim in red and gold at the wrist and two cloth buttons on each. I made them after the descriptions in "Textiles and Clothing. Medieval finds from excavations in London". I also made my first really good looking hand sewn buttonholes. On the whole a rather productive day. Tomorrow I will cut the pink surcoat and I promise you pictures when both are finished.
