Yesterday my laptop arrived and we managed to get the WLAN to work too (encrypted of course, however we found quite a few of other networks, belonging to my neighbors), then we had to go to bed. Today I'm trying to get used to the new computer's keyboard, the keys are closer together than my hands are used to. We will get a real keyboard for it for when I use it at home, but I have to get used to it anyway, since I plan to use it at the university.

I don't have a bag for it however and I would like something unusual, more feminine and in colours. Any suggestions?

Make one - or gagt a bog standard one and make a cover for it.... I'm sure you could find something sock or costume related to funk it up with.

I thought about that, but I'm lazy.

i just put computers in my backpack. I've always planned to knit a cover for it, but it never happened. But there is still time I guess.

But I don't generally use a backpack; just when I'm travelling. It fits badly with the way my coat is cut and with the "look" I go for.

By the way, I strongly recommend you get a couple of phone books to put your laptop down on and connect an external keyboard and mouse to use when you'll be sitting at it for stretches of time.

The phonebooks to raise the screen up so you won't have to tilt your head down to see it comfortably, and the external keyboard and mouse because you still want your hands and arms in a comfortable working position, along the tabletop, not lifted in the air.

Yes, we already have the keyboard and external mouse, though the pad is nice for my swollen fingers. And I'm going to use an old wooden box to put the computer on, with some rubber on it to prevent it from sliding around.
