A sewing break
Feb. 23rd, 2007 09:45 pmI have deserted the effigy corset for a while, after sewing a line of stitches where the boning ends and now I have cut out a modern skirt from tartan in dark wine red and navy. But I'm too tired to actually start sewing on it. I'm drawing myself a bath instead and after that maybe I will have the energy to zig-zag all the pieces. I hate these tedious things you have to do with modern sewing techniques. I prefer to just grab my pieces and sit down in my armchair and start sewing. But hand sewing is too much work for mundane clothing.
My biggest problem is that I don't have any acetate or rayon lining at home, since I prefer to line my skirts to spare me the trouble of finding a petticoat in the right length. I don't have a perfect zipper either, but that I can probably get from a nearby shop tomorrow.
