I've put up some more pictures (and text) on the page for my red high-necked gown.

ETA: And of the purple gown. With a link to the picture Sara took of me in my corset and farthingale, feeling like Scarlett O'Hara. Or a hovercraft.

You look so great in 16th c. stuff! I know the early stuff is easy to move around in, but you look fabulous in the later style. And the glow of happiness in your face is so evident in these pictures.

Go you!

The thing for me with post-1500 clothing is that I can be completely period, while otherwise I have to cheat with a sports bra (or something like that). OK, I can go without with a tight bliaut or Gothic Fitted Dress too, but that is hard on the shoulders when you have large breasts. But with a corset or properly boned kirtle you never suffer from that. And I like that.
The problems with moving for me, if I'm not going to do any manual work or take care of Maja, is more that I can't bend over so easily and that it's hard to move with a farthingale in narrow areas.
And everybody experiences that.

The main reason I don't do 16th century more is that the group I'm a member of is directed towards the middle ages and not the renaissance. But that's of course no problem in the SCA.
