The doublet is finished

Rickard's doublet is now finished. The pinking is hardly visible in this photo, but it looks really good when he moves. Which he can do in this doublet, as opposed to his former doublet. I have also started pleating his pants to the waistband so the outfit has a good chance of being finished before next saturday.


And for the record: I think my husband is the hottest guy there is :)

By the way;I had a great time in London, and Have been meaning to make a post, but I have a lot of other stuff to do, so I never seem to get to it. I found the fabric shops in Sheperds bush, and spendt too much money in them, but I got some really nice fabrics. I got very fine linnen for instance. I am horribly broke now, and am testing how long I can live of the food in my cubbord and freezer, but I am working as a soloist in the cathedral here this easter, and I am actually earning money off singing (yeay!). I miss you, and whish I had time and money to come and visit you!

Well, it wasn't easy for me. My first doublet for Rickard, abck in 2000, was too narrow over the chest. He could close it, but it pulled his shoulders forwad in a very uncomfortable way. This is my second and I'm not totally happy with it either, but happy enough.

Men look so good properly dressed in fitted period costumes. It makes such a nice change from washed out shapeless t-shirts and jeans that are the wrong size.
