Hat progress
Apr. 8th, 2007 05:20 pmThe homemade buckram wasn't stiff enough to use just one layer, but I made more flour glue and pasted two layers together and now it looks very promising indeed:

I've just sewn the top and side together and now I'm going to start wiring the lower edge of the side. It's not good for my hands, but fun, so I keep doing it anyway.
Maja is still really ill and refuses to eat. Her ears ache a lot and she's very cranky.

Date: 2007-04-08 07:00 pm (UTC)I use a finished material, like the material real hat makers uses, dont know the word, but it is like plastic straw material or something like that. Using this and then wire, is great.
I also used something called Spatteri, wich is natural material, also like straw, but its very difficult to get these days. It is like wowen straw and very very expensive and only comes in pieces of a square meter.
