My local medieval group has a course on 15th century book illumination this weekend. For obvious reasons I'm not going, but I've been thinking about going there just to be social. Especially since the teacher (Myra, she had a wonderful Durer gown on AIPON) doesn't live in town and I don't see her very often. Yesterday they made period pigments (pretty poisonous stuff some of it) and today they are learning the painting techniques. It would be nice just to go there and see them and maybe pick up some knowledge in the process. I could always bring my embroidery so that I have something to do while chatting. It's just that it will probably take c. 40 minutes by tram and bus and in a way I actually enjoy my self-chosen isolation. I wish Rickard was home of course, but apart from that I tend to think of other people calling or coming round as "intruders" who disturb my peace (except Anna, we are very good at sitting together, working and not talking too much). I'm really focusing more and more inwards these days. On monday the kids will come anyway so then there will be no more peace and quiet. I miss them, but it's nice just to rest too.

Well, I don't have to decide now. I'm going to have some tea and then I'm going to go to the nearest shop and get some cat food since we're out of it.

I remember that durer gown. It was really breathtakingly beautiful... and it stayed at the top ten forever it seemed.

But do you know why aipon closed down?

Kirrily apparently lost interest in pre 1600-stuff and the SCA, so she didn't want to put in work with it anymore.

I hesitate to remind you that if you are 40 minutes away on tram from home the tiny one will undoubtedly pick that time to decide to make the grand appearance. Do you have a backup plan?

I take it there are no more signs that s/he is on the way?

No signs of baby. I decided to stay home anyway. I just feel like being alone right now (except for Rickard). I do some embroidery, read and listen to music and I don't feel either lonely or bored. Odd.

Not odd. Signs of "nesting".
