frualeydis: (effigy stays)

So, I came back from Fru Ragnhild's Collegium with a renewed lust to sew and promptly started on the kirtle for the second part of my master's test (sorry, text only in Swedish). My growing internet addiction, as well as the over a hundred tests I have to grade puts a limit to my sewing, but it seems that I can sew (on machine) and fell (by hand) two seams on the skirt per day. So tomorrow the skirt should be sewed together and ready to attach to the bodice. I hate pleating skirts to bodices. But I like progress, so I will do it. I also bought buttonhole silk in a matching colour today(the kirtle is in shot navy/forest green silk taffeta) so that I can start on the lacing holes. It has side-back opening so there are a few holes to sew.

When I have too much to do and feels that I don't have time to sew, I do it anyway- but just for 15 minutes. One can always cram in those minutes in a busy schedule, and even if you don't have time to do a lot, you do a little. It adds up. :-)

It will be fun to follow your progress.

Sometimes it is had to find time and space to sew, and since I don't really have a sewing room it also takes some ekstra time to take the sewing things out first and put them back afterwards. And sometimes I simply "have to" paint instead. Or watch dvds. Or assemble IKEA furniture.
