I found this test via [livejournal.com profile] joyeuse60 and thought it would be interesting to take. Not that there has ever been any doubt that I put the N in Neurotypical, but I have more than one friend who either has Asperger's or lie very close to that field and I find it interesting to see how that has affected me and the person I have become.

ETA: Link to the test. Also, if you want to show it in a post you must change the code (as you may have noticed). Ignore the tags and just copy the URL and use LJs "insert image" feature.

My test scores were as expected neurotypical, but with some aspie tendencies here and there. The graph (whatever it means) looked a little strange ... not that I would have expected any different, at this point.

A much more accurate way of describing what we in a rather prejudiced way have called "normal".

it is an "averaged brain" - brain scans are taken then databased (there is talk of creating a truely national datababnk) and then averaged for size (perimiter and internal modules) also scans for funtions. such as the left hemishpere is "usually" modularised for language. when there is evidence for language utilising the right hemishphere due to liesion (damage) or gentics (autism) it is refered to as atypical

1. it does not have an inbetween/don't know option (1-5 with three being a clear don't know neither) - it is either yes or no. never a good sign in an experiment. because of that the questions are too leading. the responce "a little" is a rigged yes - it gives better results when sifting large ammounts of data
2. it asks about family life belore the questions and is skewed towards blaming the parents. an old idea that has thankfully been thrown out
3. the trick questions are "clever" questions. clever questions are ones where the researcher is trying to show how clever they are by trying to trick you up, not by assesssing if you understoiod the idea/question being asked
4. it is too long and covers so many differeing areas that may or maynot be connected with autism. such as dyspraxia and adhd
5. conversley it is too short to cover all the differing diaganosises to give a good evaluation of any single one
this test is pyschobable - don't take it as any indication of a trend towards being NT or anything else.

I don't need a test to tell me that I'm neurotypical; I know that.

Well, first of all, there is an I don't know option, just leave it on the question mark.

Second, it's an online, Internet Quiz. By definition it is utter bollocks.
