I'm beginning to get serious cravings for these (in black lamé). What do you say? Am I too old? Too fat? Just plain crazy?
Or should I get a pair?

Just plain crazy! ;-)

Not really my cup of tea. But hey, YMMV. Perhaps a sparkly pair of tights would fill the void?

Eva,

NOBODY looks good in those! Please don't get them! They were ghastly in the '80s and still are! Some historical clothing pieces deserve to remain in their period where then can be deeply buried!

They didn't even have these in the eighties, these look almost like latex.

Possibly not these, but leggings did exist in the 80s. So did lamé.

They look like Super Hero tights! *shrug* It doesn't seem like it goes with your current style that you've been posting. I like the sock dreams more.

I think this is a look that it would be difficult to carry off well.

(In other words, no, no and thrice no!)

I'll warn you that the lamé shows every lump and bump imaginable(If you like underwear you might as well forget it lol) and the shiny flakes off really fast on the AA lamé.

Thanks. I guess I'll abstain then. I wasn't going to show the lumpy parts of couse, I was going to wear them with dresses, but still.

I wish I could get a pair, but I fear that it would probably not be flattering fit as the fabric doesn't really have the stretch of usual legging fabric(I have the bikini top). $40 is too expensive for something that I might not wear lol I love their cotton ones with the wee buttons though.

I noticed that the link you posted was already purple, indicating I'd visited it already, so out of curiosity I clicked and yes-- I was all over the American Apparel website this past week, curious about leggings to wear for roller derby.
I had wanted a pair of those too! But I decided that since they weren't terribly stretchy (by description), and the customer reviews mostly said the shiny would crack or wear off after a couple of wearings, and also I wasn't sure they'd be quite big enough, I wouldn't buy them.

Somehow I've stopped worrying about petty little considerations like, "would I look good in them?"

But it's too funny that you were looking at them too!
Hey, man, if you've got an outfit they'd go with, I say go for it.

They're hideous. Just... no. Please.
