It hurts so that I can't think. I need to work on a lecture.
And Maja refused to open her mouth to let the dentist count her teeth this time too. It's the fourth attempt.

We are lucky there. First time the girl went she refused to open her mouth, the next time (a few months later) there were no problems at all. The boy just opened his mouth with nary a problem. How about practicing, and talking about it? Play dentist, with her as the patient (armchair, desk-light and a dentists mirror)? Does she have a friend that has no trouble that she could go together with (social pressure)? If we lived closer I'd lend you the girl (she could probably walk on water while removing her own appendix with toenail-clippers if it allowed her to show off).

We have also -- on general principles -- introduced a mortal fear (or at least mild apprehension) for the Tooth-trolls Karies and Bactus; any attempt to play games when toot brushing time comes up is met with a mention that we could just let them have a night to work in peace for once... Mouths snap open and children sit still were nicely with that.

Continuous message; tooth-trolls bad, toothbrush, flourine tablets and dentist good.

We've never had any problems with the tooth brushing it's just the dentist. She also refused to be weighed and measured at the doctor's; but has never protested at getting her vaccinations. I believe that she's just weird.
