A brilliant idea
Sep. 10th, 2004 10:38 pmI have this loose gown which is a bit too short to go with my loose kirtle. If you look atthe picture in the middle you will see that the gown is so short that you see the linen below the hem of the gown. It was made short on purpose, to have a gown that doesn't drag in the mud/snow when I use it as a winter coat and I am going to make the black velvet gown that belongs to the loose kirtle later, but it would be nice to be able to wear it before that. There is no more green fabric left, but I have found a solution.
If you look at these two pictures, which are very similar, the women are wearing loose gowns with short puffy sleeves and decorative bands on the skirt.

Their gowns are made of brocade and the bands might be velvet or plain silk, but I think it would work with wool too. I'm thinking black or a reddish brown.
Anyway, Maja is tired and wants her mummy
