Bliaut pictures

frualeydisI haven't had the time to update my web page yet, but here are pictures of my yellow bliaut and an older bliaut from red and yellow herringbone twill. It was the first time I wore it even if I made it last winter. Both of them have extra long neck openings to facilitate nursing. The neck opening on the red/yellow bliaut actually is a straight slit, but my breasts make it look funny because they push the fabric apart.

Date: 2004-09-12 12:36 pm (UTC)I think the checked one will look better with a more "normal" neck slit so I will sew it closed after I've stopped breastfeeding in a year or so.
But I'm getting really excited about 12th century again so I might start on my green silk bliaut any day now.
