The annual book fair started today and I spent 2,5 hours and about 90$ there. I bought a really nice book in french on Holbein. Since I bought it for the pictures mainly french isn't a problem. It had good quality large pictures, unfortunately not any of his portraits of women with several linen coifs topped by a white beret, likethis one. I also bought a historical novel set in 16th century Sweden, a book on The Clash, a children's book about astronomy, a novel written in the 17th century, "Tom Jones" (the 18th century novel)in hardback and two records with medieval and renaissance music. By joining a book club I also got a book on roman warfare, one about the Lancaster bombers (awesome airplanes) and on Nicopolis, some battle in the 14th century. The last three books are mainly intended for my husband. I also got two video tapes with "The young ones".
I met a good friend there too, she was the one who directed me to the Holbein book (c. 7$). She went with me home later and we had tea and talked about art, wicca and costuming. It was great fun, we don't see each other very often even though we live in the same town. We're both too busy and too ill, a bad combination.

I think my old public library has that holbein book, and it's great. I spent quite a bit of time taking photos of it with my digicam.
