The party

My party yesterday was really nice, though quite a lot of people who'd said they'd turn up didn't. I got presents: money for my new tent from a lot of people, a record with 16th century english music from [livejournal.com profile] armillary and [livejournal.com profile] emoni and Variable star, the unfinished Heinlein novel finished by Spider Robinson. I'm reading it now and it's interesting, but also weird, because it is him and yet not quite. I also got a bunch really long, sturdy cable ties from a friend - they're hard to get hold of, a collection of old photos of me made into a collage, an orchid, chocolate pralines, wine and whisky.
In all I think I gained alcohol compared to the amount before the party.

We shoved the last people of of the door just after 3 am, so today we're both a little tired. Other than that you can't see that there was a party here yesterday: the flat is less cluttered and cleaner than in a long time and we've put all the furniture back where it ought to be.

Agreed on your reaction about Variable Star. It's very Heinlein, but recognisably... not.

The plan was to go to the Nylöse party today, but after "a short nap" turned into three hours, I decided to opt out. Have some things to take care of for tomorrow.
